History of Courtney Wells and CW Productions NY

Miss Courtney Wells was born in Syracuse, NY in August of 1989. She began her
performance career mainly in Syracuse and later expanded to Utica, NY. We became
a hit and started performing all over NYS. In February of 1992 I won my first title Miss
Gay Syracuse and during my reign as Miss Syracuse we were required to promote
benefits to help raise funds for various causes in Central NY. That is when CW
Productions NY was born. Promoting many benefits, raising awareness of many
causes. One that was very close to my heart was the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial
Quilt. I was the volunteer coordinator for the huge quilt display in Armory in Syracuse
NY. We also raised funds to take a group of Courtneys supporters and marched in the
Heritage of Pride (NYC) Parade.
After my reign ended. I went on to compete for Miss Utica Pageant, Miss Greater
Upstate NY and finally Miss Heart of the Islands International. I stopped competing
and concentrated on becoming the host of the Night of Illusion Show the first Saturday
of the month at TREXX Night club in Syracuse, NY. I continued to host that show for
approximately 12 years. I also was the promoter of the Miss Salt City Pageant held
every year in Syracuse, NY. I also was the promoter of the Mr. & Miss and Mister MI
TREXX Night Club pageant for a few years as well and finally in 1994 I decided that
NYS needed a state level pageant without the added expense of going on to the
national title. (Many of the pageants where preliminary pageants for the Miss Gay
America pageant) Miss Gay Empire State NY Pageant was born. We held the Miss
Gay Empire State NY pageant for several years until transferring it to another promoter
Drew Vannest of Watertown, NY he had the pageant for a few years went thru COVID-
19 and then he decided to sell the pageant to Michael Cameron aka Amber Skyy which
was the current reigning title holder at that time. Michael held the pageant and in May of
2025 he asked if I wanted to take the pageant back and I agreed.
During the many years having CW Productions NY production company, we have had
many logos moving with the changing times.
I took a few years off to concentrate on my personal life. I moved to Long Island NY
where I resided for a short period. I moved back to Syracuse where I continued hosting
the Night of Illusion show. I then moved to Guilford, NY where I currently reside with
my husband and fur pet Oreo. In October of 2019 I decided to create a show close to
my house. We visited the VIP lounge in Norwich and hosted the show until we
increased in size and needed to find a larger venue. We then went to the VFW in
Norwich NY where we continued for 5 years. In 2023 I started the Mr. and Miss
Chenango County Pride Pageant which continues to grow moving into our third year.
We also created Drag Me to BINGO and raised approximately

$4000.00 for national and local charities. Attendance declined at the VFW for no real reason.

Stay tuned to see what Courtney Wells and CW Productions NY have in store for
everyone.
